Merry go round moments – week 18.

Family fun: top shot.

The best of friends.

Memories are made of this.

Our girly, lining up her picture dominoes to show her little brother, and then taking them one by one to talk to him about them. ‘Look, it’s an ant’, ‘look, it’s a blue car’.  She is such an attentive, caring big sister.  I couldn’t love her gorgeous, big-heartedness more.

Laugh out loud.

‘What a fuss and palava over nothing’, said her daddy.  ‘I am not a lama’, she said, ‘I’m a rumdinger!’ Yes little lady, you certainly are.

Quick quote.

‘And though she be but little, she is fierce.’

William Shakespeare.

Music makes me happy.

Mud, mud, glorious mud. This is a brand new favourite this week, introduced by her daddy.  Our little lady sings along with him, trying really hard to make her voice a few notches lower to fit the song.  And she sings it so theatrically, mimicking her daddy.  It is so funny to watch her waving her arms as she sings.

Good times.

Friday afternoon has become family swim afternoon.  This week was lovely at the pool.  Unusually for Brunei there was a really fresh breeze, making the pool area pleasantly warm instead of stifling and sticky, and the breeze also made it refreshingly mosquito and sandfly free. The (not so) little man is not going to fit into his floating ring much longer.  He is properly wedged in there, but he does love being in the water.  And our girly is getting more confident in the water with every week that passes.

It’s fab isn’t it? She has totally taken it as her own. There is no complimenting her – everything is shunned, in favour of being a rumdinger. We keep trying to convince her that she can be both a rumdinger and also lovely/clever/kind/funny etc…it’s a work in progress!
